ah yes...comedy...that which seeks to entertain us...though hotly debated, most scholars agree that the word "comedy" has its etymological roots in the Greek word "komoidia"...or for you Spanish speakers...from the Latin word "comoedia"...it loosely translates to "reveling singer"...and it represents/represented the singing and dancing associated with the festivals of none other than the god of wine and ecstasy...Dionysus...son of the god of gods...Zeus...the supreme ruler of Mount Olympus...for those of you who remember Greek mythology...

just as music is important, so to is the comic relief, if you will, that some people inspire...hey, if it is funny, it is funny...ain't no ands, buts, ifs, ors....so finally my list...i loved these guys when i saw them...the list is short and in random order...

george carlin...what can i say...comedic genius...if there is only one comedian you can ever listen to...he is the man...

dennis miller...oooohhhh....gots to have brains for this guy...the king of rants...he will stimulate your brain and your smile...

paul rodriguez...one of the original latino comedians...well, at least in my book...

carlos mencia...you may remember the controversy...he definitely can put on a show...

penn & teller...comedy and magic...cool combination...hey that was an alliteration...

jerry seinfeld...as if his show were not enough...sure gives you a different perspective on daily life...

chris rock...was laughing all night...he got the crowd going...

chris "crazy legs" fonseca...wow...this dude has cerebral palsy...but that cannot deter him....

the amazing jonathan...well...he is amazing...his comedy central show compares not to his live performance...

george lopez...orale...el mas chingon tour...now we know...
