to recruit donors early for blood drive
Laredo Community College Health Services staff will be at the Kazen College Center this week to sign up potential donors early for a community-wide Blood Drive set for September 24 at LCC.
Students, faculty, staff and community are encouraged to stop by the Kazen Center lobby and sign up to be considered to donate blood for the upcoming blood drive. The early sign-up will be held on Sept. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. and on Sept. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m.
The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center will conduct the Blood Drive on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kazen Center.
Blood donors must 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Donors are required to show proper identification before beginning the donation process.
Persons who donate blood can receive a free cholesterol screening and a mini-physical check-up for blood pressure, iron level, pulse, and temperature.
