Palominos
to host Cajun feast this weekend
Laredo Community College Palomino fans spiced up their taste buds with an authentic Cajun jambalaya feast on October 4 and 5 at the LCC Sports and Recreation Center on the north side of campus.
The two-day event—hosted by new LCC Baseball Head Coach John Maley, Assistant Coach Chase Tidwell and the Palomino baseball team—was held on the grounds of the Sports and Recreation Center and Doc Sanchez Baseball Field. Plates of the jambalaya were sold with proceeds benefiting the college’s baseball program.
“Laredo Community College is fortunate to have a diverse group of student-athletes within our baseball program,” said Athletic Director Troy Van Brunt. “One of our Palominos is from Louisiana and his father graciously agreed to prepare the taste-tempting jambalaya for this worthy fund-raiser.”
In addition to the plate sale, fans were able to purchase official Palomino merchandise. There were also opportunities for youngsters and fans to get an autograph or snap a picture with the Palominos.
