LCC Calendar for September 22-27, 2003

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2003

Laredo Community College will recognize scholarship recipients and donors who have contributed to the advancement of the LCC Nursing Program during a special ceremony at 10:30 a.m. in the Kazen College Center, room 121.

 

Laredo Community College is accepting applications from prospective students for spring 2004 admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program.  Applications are available in Lopez Nursing Building, room 126.  The deadline to apply is October 24.  For more information, call 721-5262.  Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

 

Educators who use writing in their classrooms are encouraged to participate in the 2003 fall conference of the South Texas Writing Project, September 26-27, on the Laredo Community College campus.  To sign up or for more information, call Lucinda Farrokh at 721-5491.

 

Tickets for the Laredo Community College Fall 2003 Concert Gala featuring Maestro Enrique Chia are now on sale.  The gala is set for October 16 at 7 p.m. in the new LCC Martinez Fine Arts Center.  For more information, call 721-5812.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2003

Laredo Community College Health Services, in conjunction with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, will hold a community-wide blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kazen College Center.  For more information, call 721-5189.

 

Doctors Hospital, in conjunction with the Laredo Community College Wellness Program, will hold a free prostate screening for men over 50 years old.  The screening will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the LCC Maravillo Gymnasium.  For more information, call Doctors Health Center, 717-1121.

 

The Laredo Community College Lady Palomino volleyball team will face UT-Brownsville in a conference match at 3 p.m. in Brownsville.  For more information, call 721-5326.

Laredo Community College students will be able to become a walking canvass, courtesy of Body Art by Susan, a popular national campus entertainer who will be LCC’s Kazen Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The body art is free of charge with a valid LCC ID.  For more information, call 721-5179.
