wellness lecture to examine breast cancer, Oct. 7
Dr. Eduardo Miranda, a local oncologist, will deliver a lecture on “Breast Cancer and Hormone Replacement Therapy” at Laredo Community College on Tuesday, October 7.
Sponsored by the LCC Wellness program, the presentation is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. in the de la Garza Building, room 101. The wellness lecture, free and open to students and the public, is being hosted by LCC in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Dr. Miranda comes to Laredo from a medical practice in Hematology/Oncology in Phoenix, Ariz. He brings to Laredo more than eight years experience in the management and evaluation of patients with malignancies and blood disorders. Dr. Miranda obtained his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. He completed a three-year residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals. He also completed his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
Dr. Miranda is certified by the American Boards of Medical Oncology and Hematology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology/Hematology. The Cancer Research Network in Phoenix, Ariz, honored the physician as Doctor of the Year 1994-96.
