LCC sets Pep Rally for Palomino Volleyball on Sept. 11

 

        The Laredo Community College campus body and Palomino fans will have an opportunity to show their support for the Lady Palominos during a Pep Rally to officially kick off the 2003 volleyball season on Thursday, September 11.

        The Palomino Cheerleaders will host the Pep Rally on Sept. 11 at 12:15 p.m. in the Kazen College Center. 

        The rally will inaugurate the team's new conference season, which includes their first home game against Alvin Community College on Sept. 11, followed by the annual LCC International Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 12 and 13 in the Maravillo Gymnasium.

        LCC students, faculty, staff and fans will have an opportunity to meet the 2003 Lady Palominos, led by second-year head coach Jennielle Strother and her assistant, Jennifer Keen. 

        The rally will also feature DJ music, fun for all students and a special performance by the Palomino Cheerleaders, under the direction of Keen.

        The LCC Lady Palomino volleyball players will confront Region XIV conference foe Alvin Community College on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the LCC Maravillo Gymnasium. 

        The action will continue on September 12 and 13, when LCC hosts the two-day International Volleyball Tournament featuring Texas teams--Alvin, LCC and the University of Texas at Brownsville--and Mexico teams--Pentathlon and Monterrey Tec. 

        The schedule will be:

        Friday--                                  

        11 a.m. - ACC vs. Pentathlon

        1 p.m.- Monterrey Tec vs. Pentathlon

        3 p.m.- ACC vs. Monterrey Tec

        7 p.m.- UTB vs. LCC

 

        Saturday—

        9 a.m.- UTB vs. ACC

        11 a.m.- Monterrey Tec vs. LCC

        1 p.m.- Pentathlon vs. UTB

        3 p.m.- Monterrey Tec vs. UTB

        5 p.m.- Pentathlon vs. LCC

        Admission to all games at the LCC Maravillo Gymnasium is free and open to students and the community.  For more information, contact the LCC Athletics/Kinesiology Department by calling 721-5326.
