Retirement
planning classes set at LCC
Laredo Community College, in collaboration with B&C Financial Planning, Inc., will soon host English and Spanish courses for adults interested in mapping out a successful retirement plan.
Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement, a popular course taught by licensed investment professionals from Woodbury Financial Services, will be offered at LCC. A course in English will be taught on Tuesday, September 23 to October 14.
A Spanish version of the class will be offered on Thursdays from September 25 to October 16. Classes will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Eloy Garcia Building, lecture room 33.
Classroom instruction will focus on money management and is recommended for people ages 45 and over. Participants will learn how to select appropriate investments, protect their assets and income, potentially maximize their income, use tax laws to their advantage, analyze retirement lifestyle options and create an estate plan.
Participants will work with an illustrated, 182-page color workbook that contains many practical exercises and examples.
Tuition is $59 in advance and $69 on the first day of classes. Each participant may enroll a spouse or guest at no extra cost. Seating is limited to 20 persons per class.
To register early for the course, go by the LCC Admissions/Registration Office, located in University Hall, room 125. Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Checks, money orders or major credit cards are accepted.
Registration forms may also be obtained at the LCC Community Education Department, located in Eloy Garcia Building, room 2. You may mail the form along with a check or money order to: Laredo Community College, Att: Admissions/Registration Office, West End Washington Street, Laredo Texas 78040-4395.
Registration is also available by fax. Fax the registration form to 721-5493 and then call 721-5112 to confirm your registration with a major credit card.
