MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2005

Just say OLÉ!  Early registration for Summer Session II is under way through June 27 at Laredo Community College Main and South campuses.  Register with the college’s On Line Enrollment system by logging on to http://ole.laredo.edu or by phone at 721-5100 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., including weekends.  For more information, call 721-5109 or 794-4110.

 

Kids ages 3-5 experience a fun and exciting summer camp at the Camilo Prada Child Development Center at Laredo Community College South, 5500 South Zapata Highway.  Now through June 24, campers meet at the college campus Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.  For more information, call 794-4561.

 

The only way is up for high school students attending Project Step Up at Laredo Community College.  The free summer college prep and career training program is open to high school students.  The eight-week program is from June 13-Aug. 4 on the LCC Main and South campuses.  Space is still available to join this state-funded program, which offers an $800 stipend to the participants.  For more information, call 721-5105 or 235-9133.      

   

The next session of summer camp at the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center is launched at Laredo Community College main campus for ages 9-11.  Camp is Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.  Additional camps for a variety of age groups are available.  For more information, call 764-5701.

 

Attention: Parents! Kids and Teens College returns this summer to Laredo Community College.  Fun and educational classes in academics and arts/crafts for ages 5-13 will be offered, beginning July 11.  For more details, call 721-5374.

 

Kids convene at Laredo Community College for the second session of two recreational day camps through June 24.  The camps are Monday-Thursday from 1-4 p.m. (basketball) and 4:15-6:50 p.m. (indoor arena soccer) in the Maravillo Gym.  An additional camp in softball is available for ages 5 and up.  For more information, call 721-5858.

 

A four-day workweek schedule is in progress at Laredo Community College Main and South campuses.  Summer hours of operation for most campus offices are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The campuses are closed Friday through Sunday.  For more information, call 721-5140.

 

Make history in a rewarding allied health career.  Laredo Community College is accepting applications for fall 2005 admission to the programs of Emergency Medical Services, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Office Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapist Assistant and Radiologic Technology.  Applications are available in   the LCC Allied Health Center, room 109.  For more information, call 721-5261.

TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2005

Flag Day is celebrated by Laredo Community College students.  The LCC Student Activities office will distribute free mini flags and more to students who present their new student ID card from 9-11:30 a.m. in the Kazen College Center on the Main campus.  For more information, call 721-5179.

 

High school volleyball coaches are encouraged to sign up their teams for the first Volleyball Summer Slam at Laredo Community College, July 29-30.  For more details, contact LCC head volleyball coach Jennielle Strother, 721-5899.
