A rising pop star will grace the Laredo stage on Tuesday, April 5, when Laredo Community College features national campus entertainer Nini Camps in concert at both college campuses.
Sponsored by the LCC Student Activities office, Camps will perform on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at LCC South’s Billy Hall Student Center, and again at 1 p.m. in the Kazen College Center at the Main campus. The concerts are free and open to students and the public.
Music lovers may recognize some tracks from Camps’ debut CD, “Lovepie,” which have appeared in the independent film “Motorcycle Diaries” and the WB hit TV series “Felicity,” “The Mary Kate and Ashley Show” and MTV’s “Real World.” In addition, the Olsen twins have licensed songs from “Lovepie” and Camps’ second full-length studio recording, “So Long,” for their TV show soundtrack and their most recent film, “The Challenge.”
Camps, a first generation Cuban, was born and raised in Miami; she currently resides in New York City.
