LCC captures top award at El Cenizo parade

Laredo Community College won the award for "Best Decorated Float" on Saturday, March 12, during the second annual City of El Cenizo Spring Parade.  LCC's entry, entitled "Making History Together," promotes the rich history of Laredo's hometown college and the new history being created at the new LCC South campus.

This is the second honor that the "Making History" float receives.  LCC snared first place honors for Best Live Musical Performance during the WBC Grand Parade in February.

The LCC float featured members of the Mariachi Palomino ensemble, including Juventino Lozano, Genaro Lopez, Rudy Ramirez, Linda Christina Leal, Josh Ramirez, Maida Flores, Jesse James Garza and Felipe Suarez; the group is led by Instructor Ruben Vargas.

The float's concept was developed by Designer Ricardo Limon; he was assisted by Design Assistant Jesus Carrizales.  Physical  Plant staff who provide valuable support in the transportation of the float to the parade grounds included Ramiro Hernandez, Sergio Martinez and Mario Rodriguez.

Other LCC staff members who represented LCC at the Cenizo parade were Sandra Treviņo, Dennis Quiroz and Steve Treviņo, Jr.

Below are pictorial highlights of the LCC float at the Spring Parade.
