Students, community invited to LCC job fair

Explore career options or launch a new career at a community-wide job fair, dubbed LCC Expo, on Thursday, April 21, at Laredo Community College’s main campus.

Forty employers—including banks, schools, law enforcement and many governmental entities—are scheduled to attend LCC Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Kazen College Center.  The event, hosted by the LCC Employment Assistance Center, is free and open to students, alumni and the public.

“The LCC Expo offers alumni and community with a valuable link between a college education and a rewarding career.  For our currently enrolled students, this is a valuable opportunity to meet future employers and link college degree plans to jobs,” LCC Employment Assistance Center Director Margie Moncibais-Sanchez said.

Among the employers that plan to participate in LCC Expo are: Laredo Medical Center, LCC Human Resources, Laredo Independent School District, Cash America Pawn Shop, City of Laredo, TAMIU, Laredo National Bank, Office of the Attorney General, Texas Workforce Center, Jafra Cosmetics, Laredo Police Department, Rodriguez Pharmacy, Blakey Medical Supply, United Independent School District, BeautiControl, Aflac, LCC Bookstore, International Bank of Commerce, Biolife Plasma Services, Avon Products, Inc., Association of Laredo Forwarding Agents, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Expeditors International, Rush Truck Centers of Texas, KGNS TV, Nurses on Wheels, Inc. and Convergys, among many others.

Sanchez noted that the job fair also will feature employers from other cities, including Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg and Harris County Hospital District.

In addition to the possibility of walking away with a new job or discovering a new career interest, participants will have a chance to win exciting door prizes.
