A lesson on local history at LCC

Rick Villarreal (second from right)—portraying Captain Tomas Sanchez, founder of the City of Laredo—offers an explanation to Laredo Community College librarians and guests on the Laredo Legacies exhibit.  The special appearance of Captain Sanchez was part of the festivities to launch the Webb County Heritage Foundation displays at the LCC Yeary Library on Thursday.  Villarreal is the director of the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum.  Pictured with Laredo’s Founding Father are, from left, WCHF Archives Manager Christina Saucedo, Librarian Bob Larremore, WCHF Director Margarita Araiza, Villarreal and LCC Libraries Director Thomas LaFleur.  For more information on exhibition hours, call 721-5275.
