LCC to graduate hundreds of students May 12-14

 

Hundreds of degrees, certificates and diplomas will be conferred to students during special graduation ceremonies May 12, 13 and 14 at the Laredo Community College Main campus.

The ceremonies will begin with a Nursing Pinning Ceremony on Thursday for candidates receiving the Associate Degree in Nursing.  The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center.

On Friday, LCC will host a Graduation Ceremony for candidates of the General Educational Development (GED) Diploma.  The formal ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in the Maravillo Gymnasium.   

Graduation activities will continue Saturday with Commencement for the conferring of degrees and certificates of completion.  LCC will host three ceremonies to better accommodate graduates, their friends and family members.

A ceremony for candidates receiving the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees will be held at 10 a.m. in the Maravillo Gymnasium.  Christina Marie Rodriguez will deliver the student address. 

Two ceremonies will be hosted for candidates receiving an Associate in Applied Science Degree and Certificates of Completion in the Maravillo Gymnasium.

A ceremony at 3 p.m. will be held for candidates receiving an AAS Degree and Certificates in Health Sciences, Child Development and Protective Services.  Jaclyn L. Juarez will be the student speaker. 

 A ceremony at 8 p.m. will be hosted for candidates earning an AAS Degree and Certificates in Computer Technology, Industrial Trades, Management and Business and Technology.  Elizabeth C. Rodriguez will address graduates during the evening ceremony. 

A highlight of the Commencement ceremonies will be the presentation of the 2005 Meritorious Service Award, which lauds individuals or community organizations for their support of the LCC mission and student body. 

Admission to all LCC graduation and commencement ceremonies is free of charge and open to family and friends of the graduates, as well as to the public.
