Adults who are curious to learn more about a career in nursing or other health careers should explore the educational opportunities available at Laredo Community College during a Health Sciences Career Night on Thursday, April 21.
Career Night, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the LCC Lopez Nursing Building and Allied Health Center, will spotlight 10 nursing and allied health careers.
This includes educational career opportunities for Associate Degree Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Office Assisting/Coding Certificate, Nursing Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Vocational Nursing, and the college’s newest allied health program in Phlebotomy.
“Career Night is a valuable opportunity for the community to explore their career options in the healthcare industry,” Norma Moore, Allied Health Department chairperson, said.
Faculty will be present to meet with prospective students. Participants can enter the classroom and witness the students in action. Information on admissions, financial aid and much more will be available.
Additionally, students and faculty will host a festive mix-and-mingle in the center courtyard of the nursing and allied health facilities, located on the south side of the LCC Main campus.
