Educational partnership reaps major rewards
The partnership led by Laredo Community College and the Laredo Job Corps Center can add one more accolade to its long list of student accomplishments. The recent Health Occupations Technology class earned a 100 percent passing rate on the state exam for certified nursing assistants (CNA). The students who passed the exam with exceptional scores are, from top to bottom, Rafael Saavedra, Elias Rangel, Gabriel Mendez, Angelica Garcia, Susana Castillo and Andrea Sosa. The Health Occupations Technology program has experienced impressive results in the last three years with 100 percent of the students passing the CNA state exam. Since its establishment in Laredo in 1980, LCC has been under contract to provide vocational instruction to students at the LJCC. Diana Espinoza and David Hill are the program instructors.
