LCC receives more support from Martinez Foundation

The Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Foundation supplied another major boost to the advancement of higher education with its recent donation of $100,000 to Laredo Community College.  The foundation’s gift, accepted by the LCC Education Foundation, will provide assistance for special projects at LCC.  College officials recently recognized Martinez Foundation trustees for their continued support, which totals about $700,000 for the aid of endowed scholarships, capital improvement projects, educational tools, matching gifts and other special initiatives.  The foundation helped LCC build the $8.4 million fine arts center.  They are, from left, LCC Board President Ramiro Martinez, LCC Education Foundation president David Kalisz, Martinez Foundation trustee Mary Sandlin, donor Guadalupe Martinez, LCC President Dr. Ramon Dovalina, Community Relations Director Millie Slaughter and Martinez Foundation trustee Larry Sandlin.  Not pictured are Martinez Foundation trustees Robert and Shirley Gonzalez.
