Laredo Community College students and faculty members with a penchant for mathematics joined their counterparts across the nation to celebrate Math Awareness Month at a celebration held last Tuesday.
This year’s observance focused on the connection between mathematics and the cosmos, which was discussed in a talk by Dr. John Winfrey, assistant professor of astronomy at TAMIU.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of a proclamation from the City of Laredo and the recognition of this year’s Math Bowl Award winners.
