Early summer registration begins Monday at LCC

Early registration for the first summer session at Laredo Community College launches on Monday, April 4, for students who are eligible to self advise for classes.

To self advise for classes, students must have earned at least 9 college-level semester credit hours, have met college level readiness, have declared a major on file with the Admissions/Registration office, and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.  Self-advised students may register early April 4 through May 18.  Early registration is available via the college’s On Line Enrollment (OLÉ) system, available online at http://ole.laredo.edu and by telephone at 721-5100.  The system is accessible from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., including weekends.

Students who are unable to self advise for classes should take advantage of the college’s new four-step registration process to get advised and registered early for summer courses.

The first step is to ensure that students are free of any holds on their academic record.  Students can check their account online at http://ole.laredo.edu and go to the section for Student Records to click on “Holds.”  Any holds should be cleared by the student in the appropriate college department.  Students with holds on their academic record cannot register for classes.

The second step is for students to have declared a major on their admissions file.  To change a major, students should visit their academic advisor or the Admissions/Registration office at the LCC Main and South campuses.  Students who are undecided about their major should report to the Counseling Center at either campus.

The third step is to make certain that the student’s admissions file is current.  Students who have not attended LCC within the last year  are  required  to  visit  the  LCC  Admissions/Registration  office  at  either campus.

The fourth and final step is for students to get advised and registered early for summer classes at the instructional department for their major.

Early Advising for Summer Sessions I and II is from from April 11 to 14 and April 18 to 21 from 1 to 6 p.m. in department offices and the counseling center at both campuses

Students who advise early may register early for Summer Session I with the OLÉ web or phone system from April 11 to May 18.  Summer Session II early registration for early advised students is June 10 to 27.

Students who register early must pay their Summer Session I class schedule fees by May 19 before 5 p.m. at the Bursar’s Office at either LCC campus.  The OLÉ registration payment deadline for Summer Session II is June 28.

Summer Session I classes begin on May 30 and end on June 29.  Classes for the second summer session are from July 7 to Aug. 9.

The LCC Main campus is located at West End Washington Street.  LCC South is at 5500 South Zapata Highway.

For more information, contact the LCC Admissions/Registration office by calling 721-5109 (Main campus) or 794-4110 (South campus).
