LCC Expo offers link to jobs at both campuses

 

Explore career options or launch a new career at a community-wide job fair, dubbed LCC Expo, to be held for the first time at Laredo Community College main and south campuses.

The expo will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 in the Kazen College Center at main campus, and Thursday, April 20, in the Billy Hall Student Center at LCC South.

Banks, school districts, retail outlets, hospitals, law enforcement agencies and numerous governmental and private entities are scheduled to participate in LCC Expo. 

The event, hosted by the LCC Employment Assistance Center, is free and open to students, alumni and the public.

“The LCC Expo offers alumni and community with a valuable link between a college education and a rewarding career.  For our currently enrolled and prospective students, this is a valuable opportunity to meet future employers and link college degree plans to jobs,” Employment Assistance Center director Margie Moncibais-Sanchez said.

Among the employers that plan to participate in LCC Expo at either or both campuses are: Area Health Education Center, Association of Laredo Forwarding Agents Inc., At Work Personnel, BPR Personnel, United States Air Force, City of Laredo, City of Laredo Police Department, Doctors Hospital of Laredo, Expeditors International of Washington Inc., International Bank of Commerce, KGNS TV 8, KLDO TV Univision, Laredo Federal Credit Union, Laredo Independent School District, Laredo Medical Center, LCC (Barnes and Noble) Bookstore, LCC Human Resources, Manpower Inc., Retama Manor West, Sears, Texas A&M International University, Texas Army National Guard,  Texas  Department  of   Public Safety,   Texas  Workforce Center,  U.S. Marine Corps, United Independent School District, U.S. Army, Office of the Attorney General, Nurses on Wheels, Convergy’s Corporation, Harris County Hospital District, Werner Enterprises and U.S. Border Patrol.

In addition to the possibility of walking away with a new job or discovering a new career interest, participants will have a chance to win exciting door prizes.
