Persons who have recently completed the requirements for the General Educational Development (GED) diploma in Laredo or nearby are encouraged to participate in Laredo Community College's 37th annual GED graduation ceremony Friday, May 12.
The ceremony will be at 7 p.m. in the Maravillo Gymnasium on the main campus. A reception for the graduates and their guests will be hosted after the graduation.
Individuals who have successfully passed all portions of the GED exam between May 1, 2005 and April 30, 2006 are eligible to participate in the ceremony, Jessica D. Garcia, director of adult education, said.
Limited financial assistance is available to cover a non-refundable $10 fee for the rental of the graduation cap and gown.
Interested persons are encouraged to inquire immediately by calling the LCC Adult Basic Education Department at 721-5436.
Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
