
New educational tool offers ‘3D printing’ at LCC

Computer-aided drafting lab coordinator Heriberto Silva (left) and CAD instructor Sergio Lujan review some of the plastic working models created by the new Dimension 3D printer, which advanced students in Laredo Community College’s drafting and design program will utilize beginning this fall. The printer is valued at $25,000 and funded with support from the Carl D. Perkins Fund. Interested students still have a chance to register for the fall 2006 semester on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call 721-5317.
