LCC brings Louisiana to Laredo
The spicy sounds of
Louisiana came to life in the Kazen College Center to the delight of students
and faculty at Laredo Community College enjoying their lunch hour with live
entertainment by Calvin Sexton (third from right) and the Inner City Band
Thursday. The Denton-based band was invited by the LCC Student Activities
Office to provide
entertainment
for its Mardi Gras kickoff for the LCC Family Fun Fest and Musicale. The lively
group played an assortment of songs, ranging from hip-hop to jazz. In addition
to promoting Sunday’s Fun Fest to the campus body, the band’s appearance was
part of the college’s observance of Black History Month. The Fun Fest is on
Saturday, Feb. 11 from 12 to 5 p.m. on the main campus grounds next to the
Maravillo Gym.
