LCC showcases student art Thursday

What do an aspiring artist, a future interior designer and a child development student have in common with each other?

Plenty of talent to have their art work selected for inclusion in this spring’s Art Student Semi-Annual Exhibition at Laredo Community College.

The exhibit, consisting of two- and three-dimensional work created by 51 LCC art students, opens to the public with a reception Thursday, Feb. 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the LCC Art Gallery.

LCC art faculty members are thrilled to sponsor the art show, which helps to promote and nurture student talent.

"The exhibit features work created by exceptionally talented art students at Laredo Community College who were enrolled in fall semester classes," LCC Art Department Chair Dale Short said.

He added that the artistic creations are not limited to art majors only.  The exhibit features impressive work by students pursuing careers in computers, electronics, psychology, child development, interior design, kinesiology, drafting, physical therapist assistant, communications, education, speech pathology and many more.
