Benefit brings joy to child; scholarships to students
Santa arrived early for seven-year-old Reina Perez (center) after her family won a Compaq Presario notebook computer through a fund-raiser sponsored recently by the Laredo Community College Media Center and Library. The funds raised from the benefit will be used to purchase an aquarium for the Zaffirini Library at LCC South and to provide scholarships to deserving high school graduates who desire to attend LCC. A total of $2,334 was collected for student scholarships. Pictured with Perez are Media Center coordinator Ceferino Izaguirre and Adela Gutierrez, who sold the winning ticket.
