Spring registration for traditional “face-to-face” classes may have concluded at Laredo Community College, but enrollment continues at the “College of Champions” for students opting for a high-tech avenue to learn with online classes on the World Wide Web.
Online classes, which allow students to log on at their convenience from a computer with Internet access, are scheduled to start Wednesday, Feb. 1. The classes are 14 weeks long, ending Friday, May 5.
“This is a unique opportunity for students to advance their studies toward a college degree or to learn a new career this spring at Laredo Community College,” Jerry Sifuentes, director of distance learning, said.
Among the online courses that still have space to admit new students are accounting, art appreciation, biology, business, management, computers, microeconomics, English, French, geography, government, history, weight training, physical fitness and sport, beginning and college algebra, trigonometry, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, music appreciation, occupational therapy and Spanish.
Students may view the spring 2006 schedule of online classes by logging on to www.laredo.edu.
Persons may register at the Admissions/Registration Office, located in Memorial Hall, room 125. Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
