The 2005 Palomino men’s tennis team champions of Laredo Community College are honored by City Council at a city council meeting at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall. The LCC men’s tennis players are the first to win a national championship in Laredo’s 250-year history.  For more information, call 721-5140.

Area sports media representatives have an opportunity to check out the Palomino baseball team as it gears up for the spring 2006 conference season.  Join us at Media Day from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Doc Sanchez Field on the north side of the Laredo Community College main campus.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2006

Students at Laredo Community College have a fun way to add a personal touch to their studies.  All they have to do is say “cheese” to Coyote on Campus, a national campus attraction, to receive a personalized photo bookmark.  It’s free with a valid LCC student ID card.  Today also is Rush Day for student clubs as they actively recruit new members.  Don’t miss these activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kazen College Center.  For more information, call 721-5179.

Conference action continues for the Palomino baseball team of Laredo Community College versus the University of Texas-Brownsville Scorpions in a doubleheader at 12 p.m. in Brownsville.  The Palominos play their first home game against the Wharton County Junior College Pioneers Saturday, Feb. 4 at 12 p.m.
