LCC Calendar for July 10-16, 2006

 

MONDAY, JULY 10, 2006

Fall in step toward a brighter future at the “College of Champions.”  Registration for the fall 2006 semester at Laredo Community College is in progress through Aug. 16 via the On Line Enrollment (OLÉ) system at http://ole.laredo.edu from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.  For more information, call 721-5109 or 794-4110.

 

Walk on the wild side at Laredo Community College.  Enjoy a guided or self-guided tour of the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center on the north side of the main campus.  Live exhibits featuring alligators, fish, and much more await the entire family.  The center’s summer hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The center is closed for Independence Day.  For information about entrance fees, call 764-5701.

 

Children ages 3 to 5 are enjoying a fun and educational experience during Summer Camp at the Camilo Prada Child Development Center at Laredo Community College South through July 21.  Campers meet Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  For more information, call 794-4561.

 

Young biologists ages 9 to 11 are having fun at the annual summer camp at the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center at Laredo Community College.  Campers are meeting Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Two more camp sessions are available this month for ages 6 to 8 and 12 to 14.  For camp fees or more information, call 764-5701.

Students, faculty and staff at Laredo Community College can make a splash with newly extended hours of operation at the LCC swimming pool:  Tuesday through Sunday from 3 to 7:30 p.m.  Admission is free with a valid LCC ID card.  Up to two guests are allowed per college student or employee.  For more details, call 721-5326.

Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts and Laredo Community College.  Show times are July 13-15 at 8 p.m. and July 16 at 3 p.m. in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center theater at the LCC main campus.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 with a valid student ID card.
