Admissions process goes online at LCC
Applying for admittance to Laredo Community College just got simpler and more convenient.
Thanks to the Texas Common Application for Admissions to Two-Year Institutions, a new online application form available through a secure connection on the World Wide Web, first-time students now can apply for admission to the college via the Internet.
“The state’s community colleges are now required by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to admit students through an online application instead of a paper application,” LCC admissions and records director Felix Gamez said.
Besides being environmentally friendly, the new online admissions process offers several conveniences to prospective students, Gamez noted.
“With the online application, the use of paper is eliminated virtually, and students now have instant access to Laredo Community College’s admissions application from home, work or anywhere from a computer with an Internet connection,” Gamez said.
Prospective students begin the admissions process at LCC by completing the online application at www.laredo.edu/admissions.
After completing the application, the applicant—if a recent high school graduate or first-time college student—must submit an official high school transcript or GED diploma. College transfer students need to submit an official transcript from any college and university they previously attended.
Students who last attended LCC more than five years ago also must re-apply online. Those who have attended LCC during the last five years need only complete an online Student Update Information Form.

The LCC Admissions and Registration Office will process a prospective student’s application within 48 hours after it is submitted via the Internet. Applications submitted Friday through Sunday will be processed the following Tuesday.
