LCC to host baseball tryouts June 21
Recent high school graduates are invited to try out for a position with the Laredo Community College men’s baseball team Wednesday, June 21.
Tryouts are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Doc Sanchez baseball field on the north side of the main campus.
Chase Tidwell, embarking on his third year as head baseball coach for the Palominos, said recruits can showcase their skills in the 60-yard dash, outfield play, infield play, catching, hitting and pitching.
“This is a great opportunity to play in intercollegiate baseball and represent the College of Champions,” Tidwell said.
He added that scholarships are available for eligible student-athletes.
Participants should bring their personal batting equipment, including bats, gloves, catching gear, spikes and baseball pants.
