LCC hosts Texas Skills USA District 12 Contest

Standing beauties: Striking works by cosmetology students were among the unique creations that were displayed in an exhibition at Laredo Community College South during the two-day Texas Skills USA District 12 competition.  More than 500 high school students from area communities competed for honors to advance to state and national contests.

Custom ’Gator: Computers of all shapes and sizes, such as the Custom ’Gator of Ray Miller High School student David Villarreal from Corpus Christi, were on display during an exhibition of the Texas Skills USA District 12 Competition at Laredo Community College South Saturday, March 4.  Villarreal’s ingenious creation included a combination of a computer monitor, television and DVD player into one unit.  The invention won top honors.

Computer whiz: The annual Texas Skills USA District 12 Competition held at Laredo Community College South included an exhibition of innovative student projects.  Steven Satava, a Memorial High School student from Victoria, tests one of the unique computer creations as Michael Montantes from Tulosa-Midway High School looks on.
