Staying ‘safe and sober’ is focus of LCC events

Before students embark on a weeklong break from books and studies, Laredo Community College hopes to raise awareness about experiencing a safe and sober spring break during the annual pre-spring break fair and celebration.

The event kicks off at LCC South Monday, March 6 in the Billy Hall Student Center.

A similar event will be held Tuesday, March 7 in the Kazen College Center at the main campus

Both events are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Admission is free to students.

The celebrations will include a community service and law enforcement agency fair, which will promote safety during spring break.

Additionally, LCC Student Activities will serve free “mocktails,” a tasty and refreshing alternative to alcoholic beverages.

The LCC campus will be closed for spring break from March 13 to 17.  Classes resume on Monday, March 20.

For more information about the pre-spring break activities, call LCC Health Services at 721-5189.
