LCC graduates first female truck driver

Laredoan Bella Garcia is the first female to graduate from the professional truck driver training program at Laredo Community College.  On hand at the ceremony for the program’s second graduating class are, from left, front row, Garcia, Victor Pedraza, Jose de Jesus Varela and program recruiter Felix Rodriguez; back row, instructor Danny Salinas, Sandra Patiño from MET, Inc., Raul Rodriguez and Jesse Bermea from Star Career Training and LCC South Provost Francisco Martinez Jr.  Not pictured is graduate Norman Jaramillo.  The new four-week training program was launched in October 2005 by the LCC Continuing Education Department.  Motivation, Education and Training (MET) Inc. sponsored the students’ training, which is offered at LCC South under contract with Star Career Training Inc.  For more information about the college training, call Rodriguez at 794-4420.  The next class starts April 3.
