Healthcare in Laredo is receiving a major boost with the graduation of candidates receiving the associate degree in nursing. A pinning ceremony to honor and recognize the graduates for their accomplishment is held at 6 p.m. in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center theater. Hundreds of students who have completed the requirements to receive a certificate or associate’s degree will be recognized and honored by Laredo Community College during three Graduation ceremonies in the Maravillo Gymnasium. The ceremony for candidates receiving the associate in arts or the associate in science degrees is at 10 a.m. The ceremony for candidates receiving an associate in applied science degree or certificate in health sciences, child development or protective services is at 2 p.m. The ceremony for candidates receiving an AAS degree or certificate in computer information systems, industrial trades, and business and technology is at 6 p.m. The ceremonies are open to family and friends of the graduates, as well as the public. A reception is hosted in the Kazen College Center after each ceremony.
