Students sought for LCC nursing program

 

Seeking an avenue to train for a rewarding nursing career?

Consider Laredo Community College, which is accepting applications now through Thursday, Oct. 19 for spring 2007 admission to its Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program.

The ADN program is a two-year program leading to an associate in applied science degree.  It prepares graduates for licensure as a registered nurse (RN). 

Students implement the nursing process with client care in a structured health care setting.

Among the courses the students take are Nursing Skills 1 and 2, Clinical Nursing (R.N. Training-Introductory Medical-Surgical), Complex Concepts of Adult Health, Pharmacology, Legal and Ethical Issues for Nurses, Maternal/Newborn Nursing and Women’s Health, Care of Children and Families, Mental Health Nursing and much more.

The Associate Degree Nursing Program at LCC is fully accredited by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The students participate in a hands-on clinical experience at local hospitals and at other sites throughout the community.

Applications for admission to the ADN program are available at the LCC ADN Office, located in Lopez Nursing Building, room 126, or online at www.laredo.edu/healthsciences.  The spring term at LCC begins Jan. 15.

Admission is competitive and based on specific admission criteria.
