High school students and adults who want to learn how to become a champion in a career in nursing or other health careers should explore the educational opportunities available at Laredo Community College during a Health Sciences Career Night on Thursday, Oct. 12.

Career Night, which runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the LCC Lopez Nursing Building and Allied Health Center, will spotlight 11 nursing and allied health careers.

This includes educational career opportunities for Associate Degree Nursing, ADN Transition Track, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Office Assisting/Coding Certificate, Nursing Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology and Vocational Nursing.

“Career Night is a valuable opportunity for the community to explore their career options in the healthcare industry,” Norma Moore, allied health department chairperson, said.

Faculty will be present to meet with prospective students.  Participants can enter the classroom and witness the students in action.  Information on admissions, financial aid and much more also will be available.

Additionally, guests will have an opportunity to win exciting door prizes.
