
Local, state and federal agencies dealing with corrections, law enforcement and fire technology will help students and community explore their future career options during the annual Criminal Justice Career Day at Laredo Community College South on Thursday, Nov. 2.
Hundreds of college, high school and middle school students are expected to attend the annual event to learn about the growing number of job opportunities in criminal justice.
Sponsored by the LCC Protective Services Department, the event will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Billy Hall Student Center. Admission also is free and open to the public.
LCC Protective Services Department Chair Alfonso Mendiola said this year’s career fair will feature 22 agencies.
Among the groups scheduled to participate in the college fair are the FBI, Webb County Juvenile Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, TAMIU Police Department, Webb County Constable Precincts 1 and 2, and Laredo Fire Department.
Other agencies participating in the event are Texas Department of Public Safety, United States Marine Corps, ICE Laredo Detention and Removal, Austin Police Department, Houston Police Department, United Independent School District Police Department, Texas Workforce Center, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Penitentiary Big Sandy (Oklahoma), Child Protective Services, San Marcos Police Department, City of Alice Police Department, Dallas Police Department and the U.S. Marshals.
