The kettle is brewing with an assortment of fun and ghoulish activities for All Hallows Eve at Laredo Community College.
LCC students, faculty, staff and community have an opportunity to celebrate the occasion on Tuesday Oct. 31 with the annual Halloween Club Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kazen College Center.
Several student organizations will be selling an array of ghostly treats for all to enjoy, including baked goods, candy apples, jamaica drink, Mexican candies, cupcakes, peanut butter candies, pumpkins with candy, donuts, flavored popcorn, coke floats, ice cream cups, frozen chocolate bananas and marshmallows and frozen drinks. Proceeds benefits the student clubs.
There also will be musical entertainment provided by LCC’s newest performing ensemble, the Laredo Grenadiers drumline and live DJ music by Oscar Sound System.
At 12 p.m., college students and employees will be encouraged to don their spooky or kooky costumes and try their bid for recognition as the scariest, most original or prettiest of them all. Winners will receive prizes for their creative efforts.
Students also will be able to showcase their moves on the dance floor during a special dance contest. Winners will receive exciting prizes.
After the sun sets, ghosts, goblins and other frightful friends are invited to attend LCC’s first Halloween Monster Mash Dance on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
LCC students from main and south campuses are invited to attend the nighttime celebration, which will include a costume and dance contest, food, door prizes, and a live DJ sound system.
Admission is free and open to LCC students with a valid LCC ID card.
The dance is sponsored by the LCC Student Activities Office and Campus Housing.
