Roll up your sleeve to help save a life by participating at a blood drive this week at Laredo Community College main or south campuses.
A blood drive will be held on Monday, Sept. 25 at the Kazen College Center on the main campus and on Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Billy Hall Student Center at LCC South. Both events will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Students, faculty, staff and community are encouraged to participate in the event, which will be conducted by the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center with the cooperation of LCC Health Services.
Event organizers said that the community is urged to participate in the city-wide blood drive, which helps to meet the demand for blood in the region.
To donate blood, the donor must be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.
Proper photo identification is required to donate blood. Donors also should eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood.
Blood donors will be rewarded with a duffle bag and refreshments.
