The Laredo Community College Music and Dance Department will present 18 talented student musicians in a spring 2004 solo recital on Sunday, April 18.
The music students, currently enrolled in private studio classes with college instructors, will be showcased in concert at 3 p.m. in the theater of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Each student will be featured in a solo performance on guitar, marimba, flute, piano, tenor saxophone, trumpet and other instruments.
Among the student performers will be Arnold Yzaguirre, guitar, student of Cain Budds; Ana Quintero, marimba, student of Dr. Thomas Zirkle; Elizabeth Guerrero, flute, student of Melissa S. Hinojosa; Norberto Torres, guitar, student of Budds; Frances Hassell, piano, student of Dr. Mikolaj Gorecki; Angie Gomez, flute, student of Hinojosa; Shira de Llano, piano, student of Dr. Susan Liu; Adam Hernandez, tenor saxophone, student of Jose D. Compean; Chris de la Cruz, marimba, student of Zirkle; Juventino Lozano, piano, student of Gorecki; Louis Tobias, flute, student of Hinojosa.
Also performing in the recital will be Steven Martinez, marimba, student of Zirkle; Jesus Vasquez, piano, student of Gorecki; Marco A. Maldonado, alto saxophone, student of Compean; Hacel Arias, flute, student of Hinojosa; Richard W. Anderson, trumpet, student of Compean; and Daniel Garcia, piano, student of Gorecki.
