A group of 38 students are among the first to participate in free adult education classes at the new Laredo Community College South campus.
The students are participating in a special summer program. LCC South is offering two English as a Second Language classes and a class in GED preparation. The classes began on June 7 and conclude July 22.
Prior to the first class day, students attended a mandatory three-day orientation where they learned about time management, note-taking and established their personal goals.
College officials expect to offer more adult education courses in the fall.
