LCC showcases student art Thursday
A wide spectrum of two and three-dimensional art work created by Laredo Community College students will be on display during the LCC Semi-Annual Art Student Show.
The LCC Art Department will host a reception on Thursday, September 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. for students and the community to view the works of art and meet the student artists in the LCC Art Teaching Gallery in the historic arts instruction facility.
LCC art faculty members say they are thrilled about sponsoring the art show to promote and nurture student talent.
"The exhibit features about art work created by exceptionally talented art students at Laredo Community College who were enrolled in spring and summer classes," says LCC Art Instructor Mark Johnson.
The gallery will be graced with virtually all kinds of art, ranging from traditional drawings, to high-tech art created by design communication students.
Other art forms include oil painting, life drawing, watercolor, printmaking, black and white photography, ceramics, metals and jewelry making.
The art show will remain on public display throughout the month at the college's art gallery.
