Students in the Banking and Finance courses taught at Laredo Community College were guests of the Federal Reserve Bank in San Antonio recently.
The LCC students received a tour of the facilities and were able to learn first-hand the functions of this branch of the Federal Reserve.
LCC Management Department Chair Ernestina "Tita" Vela organized the trip for the 18 students.
LCC offers both associate degree and certificate programs in business with specialization in banking and finance. The Associate degree is a two-year program requiring 68 hours which includes a practicum. The banking certificates are offered in one semester and include teller training, introduction to accounting and communications courses.
