LCC graduates hundreds of students May 8

 

Laredo Community College will confer more than 300 degrees and certificates during the 57th annual Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 8, in the Maravillo Gymnasium.

LCC will host three graduation ceremonies to better accommodate graduates, their friends and family members.

A ceremony for candidates receiving the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees will be held at 10 a.m. 

Rosangela Herrera, candidate for the AA degree, has been selected to address graduates during the morning ceremony. 

Two ceremonies will be hosted for candidates receiving an Associate in Applied Science Degree and Certificates of Completion.

A ceremony at 2 p.m. will be held for candidates receiving an AAS Degree and Certificates in Health Sciences, Child Development and Protective Services.  Veronica Salas, candidate for the AAS degree in Medical Office Assisting, will serve as the student speaker for the afternoon event.

A ceremony at 6 p.m. will be hosted for candidates earning an AAS Degree and Certificates in Computer Information Systems/Computer Electronics Technology, Industrial Trades, Management and Office Occupations.  Erika Lee Salazar, candidate for the AAS degree in Accounting, will address graduates during the evening ceremony. 

A highlight of the Commencement ceremonies will be the presentation of the 2004 Meritorious Service Award, which lauds individuals or community organizations for their support of the LCC mission and student body.  The recipient’s name will be announced during the 10 a.m. ceremony.
