LCC to host Blood Drive on Wednesday
Laredo Community College students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to save lives by becoming donors for a community-wide blood drive hosted by the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center on Wednesday, November 3, at the Kazen College Center.
The campus community and the public are invited to participate in the blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To donate blood, the donor should be 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Donors will also need to present appropriate identification. Donors should drink plenty of fluids before and after donating. They should also eat at least four hours before donating.
Donors will receive a free cholesterol screening and a mini-physical consisting of blood pressure, iron level, pulse and temperature checks.
