MONDAY, MARCH 22, 2004

Laredo Community College and Laredo Community College South resume normal hours of operation.  Office hours for most campus departments at both campuses are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.  For more information, call 721-5140.

 

The Laredo Community College Continuing Education Department is offering a selection of fast track personal enrichment and career building courses, including new classes at LCC South.  To view the Spring 2004 Class Schedule, go online to www.laredo.edu/ce or call 721-5374.

 

An exhibition, entitled “Mapping Destinations,” by E.C. Cunningham is on display at the Laredo Community College Art Teaching Gallery through March 24.  Gallery hours are Monday from 12 to 2 p.m., Tuesday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge.  For more information, call 721-5224.

The Laredo Community College Wellness Program will host a health lecture “Diabetes Update: Carbohydrates- Friend or Foe?” by Beverly Boling, an instructor of kinesiology at LCC.  The presentation will begin at 1 p.m. in the de la Garza Building, room 108.  Admission is free to students and the community.  For more information, call 721-5326.

The Laredo Community College Art Department will host a reception for students and art lovers to meet professional artist E.C. Cunningham from 5 to 7 p.m. in the LCC Art Teaching Gallery.  Through March, the college was displaying Cunningham’s exhibition, entitled “Mapping Destinations.” Admission to the reception is free.  For more information, call 721-5224.

The Laredo Community College Palomino tennis team travels to San Antonio to play a match against Temple Junior College at 9:30 a.m. and against Collin County Community College at 2 p.m.  For more information, call 721-5326.

Laredo Community College will serve as the host site for the annual City-Wide Spelling Bee Contest.  The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center Theater.  For more information, call the Literacy Volunteers of America-Laredo office on campus at 724-5207.

 

The Laredo Community College Palomino baseball team hosts a doubleheader against Austin Community College at 12 noon at LCC Doc Sanchez Field.  Admission is free with a valid LCC ID card and for children 12 and under.  For adults, admission is $2.  For more information, call 721-5326.

 

SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2004

The Laredo Community College Palomino baseball team plays against Austin Community College at 11 a.m. at LCC Doc Sanchez Field.  Admission is free with a valid LCC ID card and for children 12 and under.  For adults, admission is $2.  For more information, call 721-5326.

 

The Laredo Community College Music and Dance Department will present LCC Dance in Concert at 3 p.m. in the Theater of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center.  Admission is free to students and community.  For more information, call 721-5330.
