LCC Calendar for July 19-25, 2004

 

MONDAY, JULY 19, 2004

Early registration for the Fall 2004 semester at Laredo Community College (West End Washington Street) and the new LCC South campus (5500 South Zapata Highway) is underway.  Now through August 9, students who take advantage of early advisement and those who can self advise for classes may register via the college’s On Line Enrollment (OLÉ) system online at http://ole.laredo.edu or by phone at 721-5100.  Early advisement for students continuing their education at LCC will be held through July 20 from 1 to 6 p.m.; at the LCC main campus, advisement will be in departments for the student’s major, and in the Billy Hall Student Center at LCC South.  For more information, call 721-5109.

 

The Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center at Laredo Community College hosts two new sessions of summer camp.  Children, ages 12 to 15, will meet Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Children, ages 6 to 8, will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1p.m.  For more information, call 764-5701.

 

Laredo Community College and Laredo Community College South summer office hours for most campus departments are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 7 p.m.  The schedule will be observed through August 20.  For more information, call 721-5140.

 

The Webb County Head Start program welcomes parents to enroll their 3-, 4- and 5-year olds to the Little Palomino Head Start center located on the Laredo Community College campus.  Priority is given to students and employees of LCC, but the public is encouraged to apply.  The head start program is free of charge to eligible children.  For more information, call 722-9858 or 795-1515.

 

The Laredo Children’s Museum, located on the west end of the Laredo Community College main campus, is offering Summer Camp for children, ages 4 to 12.  Remaining sessions include July 19 to 23 and July 26 to 30.  Each session meets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The camp fee for LCM members is $30.  For the public, the camp fee is $40.  For more information or to sign up your child, call 728-0404.

 

Laredo Community College South has launched enrollment for children—ages 2, 3 and 4—to the new Camilo Prada Child Development Center this fall.  Vacancies are on a first-come, first-served basis for the children of LCC students and college employees.  For tuition and fees information or to enroll your child, call 794-4561.

SATURDAY, JULY 24, 2004

Laredo Community College South, Laredo Medical Center and BMP Radio-Laredo (Digital 107.3 FM and La M 100.5 FM) invite the community to attend the first LCC South “Back to School” Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Billy Hall Student Center on the South campus, 5500 South Zapata Highway.  An array health screenings will be offered free of charge to the public.  There will also be interactive exercise demonstrations, complimentary refreshments and door prizes.  A blood drive will also be conducted.  Bring the entire family.  For more information, call 721-5140.
