LCC Child Development Center now enrolling

The Camilo Prada Child Development Center of Laredo Community College is now open and enrolling children, ages 2 to 4 years old.  The teachers and staff of the new Center, located on the LCC South campus at 5500 South Zapata Highway, invite parents to discover the opportunities available for their children during a special open house from September 27 to 30.

Now through September 30, teachers and staff will be available to meet with parents, provide a tour of the facilities and launch the enrollment process anytime from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“The LCC Prada Child Development Center was created to provide quality care for children from Laredo and surrounding communities.  Our goals are to maintain a low child-staff ratio and offer a comprehensive curriculum and assessment that abide to national guidelines for quality child development centers,” said LCC Child Development Department Chair Gloria Juarez.  “Parents are invited to meet the caring instructional staff, preview the state-of-the-art facilities and enroll their children in the Center.”  The Prada Child Development Center is comprised of qualified and certified teachers, teacher assistants, a registered nurse and a permanent cook.

She noted that parents who receive assistance from Child Care Management Services may request their child be transferred to the Prada Child Development Center.

For more information about the Open House or placing your child at the Center, contact Child Development Center Director Gloria Castillo at 794-4561.
