
The first signs of student activity at Laredo Community College South will begin Wednesday, February 25, with registration for the first Community Education and Workforce Development classes to be held at the second campus.
Students interested in obtaining a general office clerk certificate, or becoming a security officer or substitute teacher can begin their courses on March 1 at the new campus located at 5500 South Zapata Highway. Other courses beginning soon at the South campus are computer basics and advanced computer courses in both English and Spanish.
Registration will be conducted at LCC South in the Protective Services Center (Building F) on February 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Registration will be held on February 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Other new classes scheduled to begin soon include welding, phlebotomy and English as a Second Language (ESL). The ESL course will be offered at a reduced introductory fee.
A new Saturday Lecture Series, consisting of several free introductory classes, will be offered for persons seeking practical tips to improve their work skills. Admission to this series of classes is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
