LCC dance concert set for March 28

The beauty of modern and traditional dance will be showcased by Laredo Community College students during the Spring 2004 presentation of LCC Dance in Concert on Sunday, March 28.

Sponsored by the LCC Music and Dance Department, in association with the City of Laredo, the event will feature an array of dances, ranging from contemporary styles of modern and jazz, to the traditional ballet folklorico and flamenco of Latin America.

The dance concert on March 28 will be at 3 p.m. at the theater of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center.  Admission is free to students, families and friends of the dancers, as well as the public.

“LCC Dance in Concert offers a unique opportunity to view and enjoy a wide array of dance styles presented by talented student dancers in one event,” says LCC Music/Dance Department Chairperson Danuta U. Gazdyszyn.  “Laredo Community College invites and encourages everyone to campus for afternoon of quality family entertainment.”

The concert will feature various LCC student dance ensembles, including the Ballet Folklorico and Flamenco Company, directed by Alicia McKinnis; the Lyric Ballet/Jazz Ensemble, directed by Sandra Saucedo and the Dance Theatre, directed by Gazdyszyn.
