Televised presidential debate series continues at LCC

Laredo Community College students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to view the last of the C-SPAN TV Presidential Debates series on Wednesday, October 13, at 8 p.m. at the Martinez Fine Arts Center.

LCC History Instructor Kevin Bishop, who has organized the theater-style presentation of the televised debates, says that the final debate between Republican nominee President George W. Bush and Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry will focus on domestic policy.  The event will be broadcast live from Arizona State University in Tempe.

The debate is expected to last 90 minutes.  The series of debates is sponsored by the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates.

No large bags, backpacks, containers or food/drink will be allowed in the Martinez Fine Arts Center. The event is intended for college students and employees. No political signs or on-site discussion of the debates will be allowed.

For more information, contact Bishop by calling 794-4801.
